A request to remove the single parking space on the South side of Blenheim Drive outside No 11.

This parking space is on a sharp corner. It narrows the road and greatly impedes safe vision for vehicles accessing the driveways of houses 9, 11 and 13A/B. Road safety would be greatly enhanced by removing this space and replacing by double yellow lines. There is plenty of safe parking in the existing spaces on the straight sections of the road in either direction.
Thank you for your enquiry. This matter relates to on-street parking rather than off street Car Parks (which the FMS Car parking category relates to).
Consequently Oxford City Council has passed this enquiry to Oxfordshire County Council since they are the Highway Authority for Oxford.
Unfortunately changing a parking control is not a simple matter of removing signs and changing road marking. Before any changes can be made we have to follow a relatively expensive statutory process costing around £2500. Unfortunately we no longer have a budget to make such changes. However, the request will be kept on file should any funding oportunity arise.
