Whitchurch direction on A530 before Sandford Bridge Cottages

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 06:00, Wed 11 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6846941.

During my morning commute on Monday 05:15 I was unable to avoid the pothole due to on coming traffic. Hitting the pothole resulted in rapid deflation of the tyre, resulting in the vehicle to be recovered (inflation kit issued as standard with my vehicle). Whilst waiting for recovery a second vehicle hit the same pothole and pulled up next to me. Luckily they had a spare and were able to proceed once I had fitted the spare for them.

I am unable to confirm, the length of time the pothole has been there.

There and many potholes on this road that fall under the remit of Cheshire East some of which I have reported. Sadly I do not have time to report all road defects. Many of the ones I have reported ideally require avoidance measures which are not always possible due to HGVS and farm traffic.

Unfortunately I have no images of the pothole as the location is unsafe to attend, also given the time of day it would have required significant risk on my part to obtain evidence.
