Manhole continually flowing water across the carriageway

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6837992.

This manhole has been continuously leaking water across the carriageway for months and despite reporting it to water companies nothing has been done. I believe that it is a BT manhole. The carriage is contually wet and has already frozen twice in recent weeks and with the colder months yet to come it constitutes a very serious danger as this is the A272 and carries a great deal of traffic and the speeds are in excess of the 30mph limit.

  • It is unbelievable that this water leak has been ongoing since August2024, despite West Sussex Highways, South East Water and Open Reach being regularly contacted for someone to take responsibility for.
