Floodwater from blocked drain(s)

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 12:23, Fri 6 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6827344.

The Woodstock Road is flooded in this area and water is not draining away following recent rainfall - the bus lane is blocked as a result and if a bus does use the lane then they shower cyclists and walkers alike

The water keeps getting deeper each time there is new rainfall - I suspect the drains are blocked with leaves that weren’t swept away by the council

This presents a risk to flooding the houses if there is heavy rainfall that causes the water to flood over the pavement and so run into basements (unnecessarily)

  • The depth of the water is increasing alarmingly after last weekend's heavy rainfall.

Posted anonymously at 09:51, Monday 6 January 2025

  • The size and depth of the accumulated water after rainfall has grown significantly since this was reported a month ago. Today it was approx 75m long and at its deepest extended over the entire bus lane. It is a hazard to pedestrians and cyclists. Motor vehicle/buses must now enter the right turn lane into Moreton Road it. There is an increasing risk of water spill over into adjacent homes.
