Floodwater from blocked drain(s)
Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 12:23, Fri 6 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6827344.
The Woodstock Road is flooded in this area and water is not draining away following recent rainfall - the bus lane is blocked as a result and if a bus does use the lane then they shower cyclists and walkers alike
The water keeps getting deeper each time there is new rainfall - I suspect the drains are blocked with leaves that weren’t swept away by the council
This presents a risk to flooding the houses if there is heavy rainfall that causes the water to flood over the pavement and so run into basements (unnecessarily)

The size and depth of the accumulated water after rainfall has grown significantly since this was reported a month ago. Today it was approx 75m long and at its deepest extended over the entire bus lane. It is a hazard to pedestrians and cyclists. Motor vehicle/buses must now enter the right turn lane into Moreton Road it. There is an increasing risk of water spill over into adjacent homes.
