Outside gate of 27 Jackson Lane, both sides of road
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 10:50, Mon 2 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6808600.
Over the past few months your road sweeper has been coming along to remove the leaf debris but has failed to actually clear the drains which have been blocked repeatedly since the 1970s.
The water issue that has been reported to Cheshire East many times has never been fixed and we even reported it to one of your highways engineers who is outside Only last week who confirmed that the drain was completely blocked and would serve no purpose.
The amount of water that has over the years been ignored by Cheshire East is now resulting in subsidence potential to the garage of our property.
This will result in a claim against Cheshire East.
I suggest that you get this sorted sooner rather than later and cause Jackson Lane no more damage and potential aquaplaning of vehicles as both side sides of the road are now flooded
Don’t let the death of a driver or a pedestrian or a child be the reason you get this problem sorted be proactive for once

The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of works as they will be prioritised based on risk and available budget. Changes might need to be made if we need to prioritise other works due to emergencies or weather events.
In the meantime, if there is any immediate threat to the property or highways safety requiring an emergency response then we ask that this is telephoned through to the team on 0300 123 5020 between 8:30am – 5:00pm or outside of these hours, contact our out of hours team on 0300 123 5025.
