Trip hazard

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 16:38, Tue 25 August 2015

Sent to Orkney Islands Council 2 minutes later

The Council, or another body, have set up traffic monitoring on the main Kirkwall to Stromness road. Where this system crossed the pavement there is a black rubber triangular wire guard. This wire guard is black and not highlighted. With the poor illumination in the area, the high volume of walkers/ runners in the area and the speed of the traffic on the road next to this rubber construction it would be beneficial if this was a bright colour in an attempt to make it more visible to people using the pavement and avoid the potential for anyone falling onto the road.

Updates

  • The Council akmowledged my issue, passed it on and that was the last I heard about it. Nothing after 4 weeks.
They moved the piece of rubber that was the issue but I think the issue remains at the new site.

    State changed to: Fixed
