Tree roots causing demosnstrated danger to pedestrians
Reported via desktop in the Tree roots lifting pavement category by Mr Howard Joseph Weiss at 17:10, Sun 1 December 2024
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6806477.
None of these matters are related to the council's overview that declines action. This lime tree has been reported recently. These points are new. Due to extensive tree root activity there is a hazardous strectch of sunken pavement - so much so a pensioner slipped over late last month and had two breaks to her wrist. Action is being considered. The tree has also caused damage to the street fronting wall which has had to be repaired. May I suggest a major reduction or removal in keeping with a street, as aginst forest, tree species.

This tree has been inspected and is not considered to require remedial works at this time. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. The situation will be reviewed cyclically and any required action will be addressed within a future works programme.
