Broken communications manhole cover with dangrous temporary cover.

Back in February this year (2024) a large hole appeared in the concrete cover of this communications manhole, in front of the green cabinet, at the corner of the recreation ground in Bursledon Road, Hedge End. A couple of months later this temporary cover (trip hazard) was put in place over it. It is still there today!

  • Hampshire County Council say it is not their problem The temporary cover fulfils the requirement for safe protection and the manhole cover is the responsibility of Virgin Media.
