Reinstate light on new electricity pole hit by Council Contractor.

Reported via desktop in the Vehicle/ Accident Damage category anonymously at 09:50, Thu 28 November 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6795114.

This is the third report on this issue! It's not fixed. The street light needs to be reinstated, it has been missing since June 24. There is a village hall and car park served by the street light - we are in winter and the lack of light is causing a safety issue. The last report was cancelled by the Council saying it was fixed - it isn't. The first report was cancelled, you stated: ‘’Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention, so will not be fixing at this time.’’ Does this mean you aren’t going to replace the light? Surely you have to replace a street light in the centre of a village that has existed for over 60 years? Please give a full explanation.

Council ref: 6795114

Asset ID: 001

Unit type: Wooden Pole Mounted Light

  • I will chase up the contractor on this matter forthwith. There does seem to be some confusion that also involves SSE. To that end I will cancel the emergency 3 hour job because that won't be possible. As soon as I have all the facts I will raise the appropriate job against the asset.
