Multiple lanes flooded at this four-way junction

Reported via desktop in the Other Road Issues category anonymously at 07:43, Wed 27 November 2024

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6789413.

Multiple lanes are flooded with a large body of water at this four-way junction. There is a drainage issue as the water is pooling in the middle section and not clearing.

Multiple lanes of traffic have to cross this water, some at speed, some more cautious due to the water. As most vehicles are accelerating, having been stopped by red traffic lights, this is a dangerous area to have sitting water.

  • Unable to see the road at this section as there is minimal lighting, you cannot see the road is flooded early morning or late evening. This is a problem when travelling at 40mph and hitting a body of water - it is still an issue.

  • Heavily flooded again today. It is a hazard to the highway and app road users and cannot be ignored! Just visit the site and see the piles of silt building up on curbs and islands.

  • Again, the road is heavily flooded after two days of rain. The council needs to hold the water/drainage companies to account as the water is not clearing and it is a hazard to road users + eroding the roads.
