Illegal/unofficial road closure Thursday 28th November 2024 - URGENT.

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 20:51, Tue 26 November 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6788781.

Good evening, Today I had the attached print posted through my letter box. It is threatening the complete closure of two main roads in Abingdon this Thursday (28th November). I know the date on the letter is for December, however the 28th of December is a Saturday and not a Thursday, and I believe the sender of the letter is associated with building work being carried out on the corner of Ferry Walk and Wilsham Road. As can be seen the letter appears to have no official Council header, and as such I believe it quite possibly an unsactioned and illegal road closure that is being threatened. This closure, should it go ahead will cause traffic chaos on what are already very busy roads.
