Drain on road not draining resulting in flooding of pavement and the garden of nearby house 118 Banbury Rd Kidlington

Reported via mobile in the Property Flooding category anonymously at 18:03, Tue 26 November 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6788270.

The drain on the main road is not draining, resulting in flooding of the nearby pavement and of the the garden in the nearby house 118 Banbury Rd Kidlington, which we own. My wife has reported this a number of times in the last two years but it has not been fixed. This happens any time there is a fair bit of rainfall, not just when there is excessive rain as is the case now, so in the winter it could be every other week on a arrive. We are seriously concerned about damage to our property because our garden path is slightly lower than the pavement, so the water sits on our path, right up against the front corner and the side of our house for lengthy periods.

  • Please provide feedback asap on the detail of your investigation. The problem is getting worse. What is being done? The flooding due to the street drain not working is continuing - flooding of the side of the road, a large section of the pavement and then into our property, all the way along the garden path and up against the wall of the house.
