Blockage under bridge causing road to flood

The road and neighbouring properties flooded on 23/09/24 partially due to blockage of the brook under the road bridge. The road flooded again yesterday evening. Debris from the bridge parapet, repaired earlier this year by Highways is still in the water causing a dam preventing the water flow. The brook is also backed up with silt, gravel and mud from the culvert that runs down and under the road and joins the brook. Local residents formed a work party this morning to clear leaves and mud from the road to prevent further blockage as road drains have still not been cleared despite assurances that this would be be done in October.
