Road drains do not take any water. sports club has to open its manhole in the carpark to take the surface water which follows the dropped curb and enters the club carpark. Surface water run off is an issue in this carpark and is creating a high risk environment in cold weather with parents collecting and dropping children at the school. It seems the drains do not function.
The highway is blocked as water spreads from either side and the water meets in the middle of the road causing a large flood which impedes onto the busy pavement causing another hazard.
The flooded water caused by these non functioning 3 drains covers the double yellow lines meaning the pavement is blocked and the grids are not accessible should they need clearing. Access o the sports is also reduced and needs to be kept clear should we require emergency medical assistance on match days.
This has been an issue for over three years. I would greatly appreciated the issue being investigated and the drains repaired.

The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of works as they will be prioritised based on risk and available budget. Changes might need to be made if we need to prioritise other works due to emergencies or weather events.
In the meantime, if there is any immediate threat to the property or highways safety requiring an emergency response then we ask that this is telephoned through to the team on 0300 123 5020 between 8:30am – 5:00pm or outside of these hours, contact our out of hours team on 0300 123 5025.
