Parking restrictions in Phoenix Way/Fennel Road have not been implemented
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:39, Sun 16 August 2015
Sent to North Somerset Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 676935.
There have been notices attached to street lights, around the junction of Fennel Road and Phoenix Way detailing parking restrictions which are to be implemented at, and nearby the junction. These have been in place since October 2014 but no action has been taken, i.e. no double-yellow lines have been painted on the roads etc. Inconsiderate parking in this area continues to be a problem causing great difficulty to other motorists, particularly the buses. This quite often results in traffic 'log-jams' or lorries actually mounting the kerb and damaging the surrounding verges while trying to negotiate the corner. As a resident of Fennel Road I am often caught up in these jams, and cannot understand why the double-yellow lines have not yet been painted as it is nearly 10 months since the notification! When will the double-yellow lines be painted?

It seems that the council only do yellow line painting in batches and, even though there is no objection to the Phoenix Way site, there have been objections to other sites, hence the delay. These objections have now been dealt with hence it is expected that the yellow lines will be painted within the next 2 months.
