Urgent Safety Concern Regarding Hazardous Parking on Dorset Avenue, Glenfield

I am writing to raise concerns about vehicles parked on Dorset Avenue, Glenfield, which are creating a dangerous obstruction and posing a significant safety hazard to road users.

On my daily route home from work, I have encountered multiple near head-on collisions due to the way vehicles are parked on the road. Despite the availability of driveways, these vehicles are consistently parked in a manner that forces drivers to swerve around them. This becomes particularly hazardous near the bend at the bottom of Dorset Avenue.

As drivers descend the hill and maneuver around the parked cars, they are often met with oncoming traffic navigating the bend from the opposite direction. I have personally experienced several near misses, and I have also witnessed other drivers narrowly avoiding collisions in the same spot.

In addition, I have observed a resident reversing out of their driveway who is unable to see uphill due to the obstructing parked car. This further exacerbates the risks for both the reversing vehicle and other road users.

The current situation is extremely dangerous, especially given the proximity of the parked vehicles to the bend, and obstructs the safe maneuvering of multiple vehicles. I strongly urge the council to investigate this matter and consider implementing measures such as parking restrictions or safety enhancements to prevent a serious accident.
