Broken surface water drain causing flooding
Reported via desktop in the Damaged Gully or Catchpit Ironwork category anonymously at 20:12, Sat 16 November 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6751703.
Several properties in Lock Crescent were flooded at the end of September. On 28 October OCC sent someone round to check the surface water drain and they were unable to get any water to go down the drain, they said someone would need to come back to put camera down before it can be fixed. So far nothing is happening, residents are concerned if we have further rain more flooding will occur unless it is fixed.

I am a resident of Lock Crescent and share the concerns of my neighbours in respect of the flooding that took place on 23/09. I had to move out of my house due to the flooding. It is now nearly a month since the broken drain was established and have seen nothing in relation to the camera that was needed before repairs can commence. Experience suggests that we have a long wait before repairs are carried out which causes me further concerns as I do not want to be flooded out again due to the lack of action on your part and having a difficult conversation with my insurer. Please confirm action is being taken and not just a response indicating that it is being investigated!
