Whole road and pavements from Ham Lane through village covered in mud from tractors leaving field in Ham Lane
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:48, Wed 13 November 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6725469.
Again numerous tractors are leaving a field in Ham Lane and driving through to Cote leaving vast amounts of mud on the roads and pavements. The tractors go at more than 20 mph throwing mud from their tyres onto the road, pavements and vehicles. The pavements are covered in mud and debris. This is not new. This happened a few months ago and roadsweepers were deployed to clear up the mess. We have not had any rain recently but when it does it will create a dangerous, slippery, disgusting hazard. Apparently pedestrians were hit by mud as the tractors went along the road. Also the tractors go in close proximity to a primary school. Driving on the road surface is like driving on a rumble strip likes those on roads sometimes approaching roundabouts. Before any more mess is created and an accident happens please investigate this problem. It is obviously local farmers creating this mess.

18/11/2024 Good morning, although the mud has been cleared on the High Street & Cote Road (B4449), Ham Lane remains full of mud and very dangerous now the wet weather has come in. Walking & driving on the road is unacceptable and requires urgent action to clear the mud and sweep the road.
