Loose Mains (230 Volt) Cables adjacent to Footpath

Reported via desktop in the Other issue (docks) category anonymously at 16:05, Tue 12 November 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6723569.

These cables are a serious concern, recently in that period of heavy rain there were reports of sparks coming from them. Any kind of power near water is dangerous let alone what looks like 230v.

In addition there is a lot of non earth bonded Extraneous metalwork (railings), in this area, which makes the situation even more dangerous. It would be very easy for these railings to become live, and as people regularly hold on to them, there could be a path to earth via their chest, which would be a serious threat to life.

Armoured cable is recommended for most outdoor installations, especially in areas that could be exposed to mechanical damage as in this case.

Please rectify this issue as soon as possible before you have a serious or very serious incident on your hands.
