Tree Preservation Order application

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 15:54, Sat 2 November 2024

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6687386.

Very large lime (?) tree, about a metre across as high as the building and at least 40 years old, in the garden of 68 Langside Road at the centre of the back courts of a tenement block, is at risk of being cut down by Govanhill Housing Association. They have tagged the tree, and notified residents. It's home to lots of wildlife, with lots of birds nesting and singing year round - it's lovely. The tree also provides privacy between the blocks either side of Ardbeg lane, and quiets busy traffic noise coming from Victoria Road.
