Poor Cycle Lane Road Markings

Reported via desktop in the General road marking and stud issues category anonymously at 09:40, Saturday 2 November 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6686197.

I travel on the designated cycle lane along Lansdown from the centre of Stroud every day. This section of cycle path allows cyclists to travel against the flow of cars on this one way section of the road. I have been repeatedly sworn at and made to take evasive action whilst on my bike as motorists do not understand that cyclist have a right of way against the flow of traffic. Whilst the signage is adequate the road markings are very poor and there is no delineation of the cycle route for the oncoming traffic on most of the route. Could you please consider improving the line markings to cover the whole of this section of cycle route as it is dangerous when ignorant motorists drive within inches of you wrongly believing I have no right to be cycling on the road in the opposite direction.
