Inadequate signage for St Margaret's Rd closure

Reported via desktop in the Current Roadworks - live information category by Bill Manville at 16:10, Sunday 27 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6664048.

Traffic coming north along Kingston Rd currently sees no signage before Farndon Rd to tell them that through traffic must turn right there. Since St Margaret's Rd east is again closed because of problems with the revised junction, Polstead Rd is one-way westbound and Hayfield Rd and Aristotle Lane are dead ends, vehicles are repeatedly having to turn round at awkward junctions and drive back to Farndon Rd because of the lack of signage. This was reported before and marked as closed, but I never saw the signage.

  • I see this has been "investigating" for over a month. The absence of suitable signage to indicate that people heading north on Kingston Rd need to turn right into Farndon Rd in order to reach Woodstock Rd still results in long vehicles having to U-turn at the end of St Margaret's Rd when they reach the Road Closed sign.
