A number of pavement defects
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:36, Sunday 27 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6663343.
The pavement between Oakwood Road & at least number 38 Crofton Avenue has been progressively getting worse over the years, certainly no maintenance on it since I moved into the road in 2007. This is a busy school route for Darrick Wood schools and a number of elderly & blind people and in parts the tarmac/slabs are either broken or sinking, I would be grateful if you could take a look or advise when the scheduled programme is due to visit Crofton Avenue.

Someone did a bit of tarmac outside of no 40 but nothing had been done on the area I specified in my report which was between Oakwood Road and no 38 Crofton Ave. I also and have requested previously the dates due of scheduled planned maintenance on this particular pavement as nothing has been done on a worsening situation in the last 17 years if not longer. I would hope for an answer to this as I didn’t get an answer before but am happy to submit an FOI if that is what it comes down to.

Thank you for your update, The area reported has been inspected and will be regularly monitored. Additional repairs will be raised when/ if necessary for defects which meet the London Borough of Bromley investigatory levels.
The investigatory levels for repair in the footway are trips of 20mm or above, or if the slabs are loose and rocking severely. Paving is not replaced if just cracked. In the Carriageway it is for localised immediate vertical deflections measuring 30mm deep or more in the trafficked directions. This does not mean that all defects that reach this level will be repaired, just that they may be considered for repair.
