Gutter Cover Creating Unnecessary Noise.

The gutter cover directly opposite the entrance to Lords Hill Close is, by some way, higher than its tarmac surround. Consequently, it creates a heavy thudding noise each time a vehicle crosses it. The cover is not broken, just badly set. This is a busy road whose surface is poorly maintained and this particular problem is just one of many - all despite recent work undertaken during a recent two-day closure. For example, a tarmac strip repair outside number 36 Lords Hill (carried out just over a month ago), has already been revisited twice to correct the poor work undertaken first time around. Even now, after three attempts in just a few weeks, it still looks suspect. Cannot a better and more complete strategy be applied to this whole section of road? The entire road never seems to be in good condition and continues to create frequent problems for its residents. Furthermore, due to considerable expansion of supermarket provision on the lower part of the hill, the road has become busier than ever - yet, never does the road receive the upkeep it and its residents fully deserve.

If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

It does not currently meet our criteria for an urgent repair but we will monitor the issue in our routine inspections.
