Blocked Drain
Reported via desktop in the The drain is blocked category by Helen Randall at 11:55, Thursday 24 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6653543.
I reported the blocked drain outside 21 Beverley Gardens, Report 22061142. This report was closed as the gully crew carried out their annual gully clean on 23 August 2024. I spoke to the crew at the time and advised that this gully was blocked and they said it would be attended to. Their efforts have not unblocked the drain. A very light shower results in it filling and a stream starting down the road to the next working drain. It then takes 2 or 3 days for the sitting water on the road around the drain to clear. The photo was taken on 27 September, a month after the annual gully crew clearance activity.
Updates

Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.
We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.
We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
