Incomplete resurfacing

Queen St Bloxham was closed today & we were advised to relocate vehicles normally parked on the road to allow resurfacing. The crew are just leaving having done about half of the street. Apparently that's all they are supposed to be doing ?? They have probably resurfaced the better half the street & left the worst (see my photos - I have more!) Why has only half been done? Are there plans to do the other half. Why was it necessary to cone off stretches that were not designated for work ? Please advise.

Thank you for your enquiry. We’d like to address your points and provide some clarity.
1. Why has only half the street been resurfaced?
The recent resurfacing on Queen Street formed part of a countywide program focused on larger scale schemes. During the planning stage, a site assessment determined that it would not be feasible to include the entire street in this phase due to challenges posed by the street’s layout and surroundings.
2. Are there plans to resurface the other half?
Yes, we are actively looking to include the remaining section of Queen Street in a different workstream within the 2025/26 program. Once the program has been finalised, residents will be informed in advance of the works via letter about the program date and duration.
3. Why were stretches coned off that weren’t designated for work?
Coning off additional areas may have been necessary to ensure the safe movement and positioning of the contractor’s vehicles and equipment.
We hope this provides some explanation and context for the omitted area. Thank you.
