Report no: 6505466

Reported via desktop in the Tree is dead or dying category anonymously at 15:57, Mon 14 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6613830.

This dead Hawthorn tree is on the verge of our property and was reported to PCC 3 weeks ago - report number above. With strong winds forecast this autumn it is important that either the Council deal with this tree or inform us that we have to instruct a private tree surgeon to take it down. There is a lot of traffic that comes down King Street and it could fall on vehicles or fall on our newly built wall. We need advice on this matter urgently please.

  • Works recommended

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.

For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028

Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Aragon Direct Services on 01733 425312 or email trees@peterboroughlimited.co.uk
