This has been reported time and again and nothing has been done
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 11:33, Mon 14 October 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 8 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6612266.
This drain is completed blocked. The kerb inlets are blocked too. This has been a problem for years and Burford Council, WODC and OCC continue to do absolutely nothing about it - each just pushes it onto someone else's desk. It causes large flood every time it rains, cars have to swerve onto the other side of the road, and pedestrians cannot pass so they have to venture into the road which could be fatal and this will be on the authorities.
Many of the drains are completely solid - I have to go out every time it rains to clear the surface as best I can, but because there is only one functioning drain it never actually clears because the others are all completely blocked inside.
Take some responsibility and rather than just robotically changing this is 'investigating', then waiting for a while until you hope we forget, then changing it to 'complete', I suggest you actually fix the problem.

More than two months later nothing has been done, still regular flooding and car damage. It is a straightforward fix - the drains need pumping through to removed the YEARS of built up leaf debris and dirt, and this happens because the council almost never sweeps the leaves

Still blocked. Still floods every time it rains. Same for years. Caused directly by letting the leaf litter build up and block the drains. Still makes cars swerve to the other side of the road and in some cases I've seen them mounting the pavement. Still no action from Highways. I saw a Thames Water unblocker lorry parked up there the other day for 2 hours. Hoped something was at last being done, but no. They sat, smoked, looked at their phones, then drove off.
