Huge Puddle at the Bottom of Christmas Step

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 08:25, Monday 14 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6611065.

The drain at the bottom of Christmas Steps, outside Ahh Toot, is clearly blocked. There is a massive puddle today, which I have stepped in, and it hasn't rained that much overnight. There has repeatedly been a huge puddle during the heavy down pours, which has made the pavement almost impassible, but now it seems to be a permanent fixture. What with it being both dark and narrow in that area, it is difficult to see and avoid the water. What with being soaked and nearly killed by a cyclist riding on the pavement, it has not been a great start to the week!!!

  • Puddle has reappeared again this morning, about 1.5m wide. A young girl, walking in front of me, stepped in it and got soaking wet feet. It is difficult to see the true size and depth because of the cobbles and lack of light.
