Brust drainage ditch resulting in overflow into homes in Sutherland Beck and Dart Drive

Reported via desktop in the Property Flooding category anonymously at 22:42, Fri 11 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6605629.

During the evening of Tuesday 24th Sept my home and gardens plus a few others flooded late in the evening. Which could be as result of a local drainage ditch over flowing, I understand that this could be on Networkrail land.? I have read reply from OCC on 26th Sept (ref 6518358) .Reply states that OCC do not maintain any drainage ditches at said location, hence reply was closed. A helpful, supportive and better reply would have been appreciated such as we will contact the owners on your behalf and confirm who owns the ditches so that residents may also contact the responsible party directly. Surely OCC have maps which details locations of key infrastructure items and owners?

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 22:42, Fri 11 October 2024

  • I suspect this was water from the Moor Ditch surcharging down the Network Rail land, I was not aware there was a ditch located here as it not on public maintained land and normally indicated in a blue line like on the oppersite side of the railway on the map, South and Vale District Council would keep a records of the land drainage assets. Please contact SODC. I have a contact you can ask for Leigh Travis he may be able to help.
