Highway drainage needs significant maintenance

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 18:01, Tuesday 8 October 2024

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6567807.

The ditch along the A30 London Road from Morris Street towards The Hogget, as far as the bus stop, has over 20 years of vegetation growing in it - the ditch is almost invisible in the first 2 photos. The headwall under the Morris Street bellmouth has standing water in it almost to the crown of the culvert pipe (3rd photo), and needs cleaning out. Both these issues are preventing the efficient discharge of surface water from the A30 to the storm drainage system, and thereby causing water to run off into Morris Street, where properties have been flooded (1 August storm)
