Dangerous pedestrian crossing area

I use this junction to cross over almost daily and have to rely on the lights changing for the cars to cross over and then have to time it right and run across the road. The nearest pedestrian traffic lights are up by the community centre which are pretty far away. I wondered whether a pedestrian crossing could be considered for this hazardous junction. I understand there has just been a pedestrian accident here a few days ago.
