Trees from cyclepath are extremely overgrown and hanging over the properties at the bottom of St Pauls Place and St Thomas Road. They are causing damage to the properties and are causing the residents significant concern. This is a huge health and safety issue. The trees are extremely large and could fall on someone's house and flatten it. These trees need to be taken down as they are dangerously high and the crew need to get on to this urgently. We have had a neighbourhood meeting and we have all voted that we will deal with this ourselves and bill the council if this continues and something isn't done by the end of this week. We need an update otherwise we will escalate this further as we have been waiting for years for an update. The tree team need to come and inspect this ASAP and provide an update on this report.

Thank you for your report. We are investigating this issue and will keep your report updated throughout the process. The trees here are routinely inspected approximately every 3 years for their condition. The last inspection was carried out in April 2023 and there there were no defects identified that would indicate that the trees were at risk of suddenly failing. Works will be included in the tree works programme to prune back canopies overhanging adjacent properties.
State changed to: In progress
