Roadside collapse at Aston Mile Farm entrance

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Russell Avis at 13:51, Thursday 3 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 7 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6547639.

It was previously reported that the whole border of the road had collapsed, likely due to heavy lorries turning to enter Aston Mile Farm as they have been seen to use the very edge of the road to make the turn. At first the deep crater had cones around it for many weeks. It was stated as resolved despite nothing been done for some time. Something was eventually done, but this appeared to be just filling the crater in with soil and stones. We said at the time this needs proper resolution with a concrete base to support the lorries turning and instead a botch job was done. Now, the crater is already starting to re-appear and by the onset of winter will no doubt be as bad as before.
