Series of deep potholes

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:39, Thu 3 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6547231.

After the recent wet weather a series of potholes have formed along this stretch of road. They are on the lhs when going towards Childrey, and are situated in the lhs wheel tracks. Avoiding them means driving on the wrong side of the road as the road is narrow.

Council ref: ENQ241019350

  • These are getting worse. There are at least 5 damaging pot holes.

  • Need to drive on the other side of the road to avoid these. Very dangerous

Posted by Chris Edwards at 15:43, Tue 22 October 2024

  • Very dangerous to drive this route currently, have to swerve to avoid holes or come to a stop risking being hit by vehicles behind.

Posted anonymously at 16:42, Tue 22 October 2024

  • Phenomenally dangerous. Difficult to see until you are on them and nowhere to go when there is oncoming traffic. You’re taking a long time to address this. Going to be expensive for OCC when people start claiming for damage to their vehicles.

  • These holes (a sequence of three that had been badly fixed, then a gap, and then a further one with a white paint mark around it suggesting this is a known issue) are getting worse by the week. Those who know drive on the opposite side of the road, those who don't potentially suffer expensive repairs or dangerous accidents. This afternoon, an AA van was recovering a car that seemed to have hit one or all. Please get these fixed asap. Thanks

  • Absolutely massive. Caused my car to have a puncture this evening. Still not marked (or fixed) having been reported over 2 months ago.

  • Can we have an update, please? This sequence of large holes is still here, and still causing people to swerve onto the wrong side of a 60MPH road.
