Multiple issues making crossing dangerous

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 18:55, Wednesday 2 October 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6544428.

This junction, a major thoroughfare for pedestrians going towards town, particularly at lunch time, has many issues affecting crossing safety; especially since the upper stretch of St Thomas street was closed and priorities were changed. Trying to cross one is often faced with very large delivery lorries parked across the entrance gate of the development and the pavement, often ON the pavement in front of the student accommodation. There is a site delivery gate, which the lorries should be backing into for their unloading, but they never do. Sometimes delivery vans, attending the student flats also park right on the pavement on the corner. Walking north and trying to cross is made even more difficult by the parking on the south side of Mitchell Lane, which obscures the view of traffic approaching from Victoria Street. Since the priority change, cars move much faster along Mitchell Lane into Three Queens Lane as that is now the main route. There is also a blocked drain on the corner, now partially obscured by the boarding wall (but blocked before it was erected), that creates a large puddle all the way around the dropped curb on the corner when it rains.
