Storm drain exit blocked with debris at exit into River Lea draainage "ponds".

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 09:56, Thursday 26 September 2024

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6517934.

The road drains overflowed down Thresher Close because the storm drain is never serviced. The storm drain cover in the woods has blown off and the drain is now full of road gravel. The exit into the river tributary is totally blocked as in the first photograph and it needs immediate action as 5 houses have been affected by flooding.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • If the authorities don't remove the metal grid at the culvert exit into Houghton Brook then it will block again in a short period of time. The tributary to the brook is now so overgrown that the stream will become untraceable and needs remedial action via clearing the banks.

    State changed to: Fixed
