Deep holes in road, back to cobbles
Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 01:31, Sun 21 June 2015
Sent to South Tyneside Borough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 650787.
In various part of the road in marine Aproach there are potholes in the road, some down to the old cobbles. We were promised the whole road was to be resurfaced. A councillor called on us (pre election 2014) and told us they had 'found' the money to do our road. So far a lorry with tar has been along and dropped tar into some holes and driven over it to level it. On Marine Approach one has to park their car illegaly onto the pavement to allow acess through the street. The new road sueface should in my view be brought up to pavement level.

Nothing has changed since my original report.
2014 pre local election we were promised money was available to mend our road.
I now believe that was political speak for gaining votes and then not keeping up with the given promise.
Streets around us have been done but we were left out.
Maybe we are entitled to a council tax rebate for the damage caused to our cars due to council lack of action?Posted anonymously at 14:20, Sun 19 July 2015

It's all very well our council tax being used for making the Town Hall look pretty and purchasing up to date mobile phones for our councilors, but what is not alright is people on my street having their cars ruined because of potholes.
We were promised a new road as we are now down to cobbles, but that never happened.
We have to park illegally in order for taffeta to flow through our street.Posted anonymously at 12:41, Mon 17 August 2015
