Blocked drain causing flooding

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 16:56, Mon 23 September 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6505982.

All weekend with heavy rain this drain has been unable to cope and the corner of the Avenue and Ennerdale Rd has been totally flooded. It eventually subsides only to flood again when rain restarts sharp corner is already a dangerous right angled turning so any flooding makes traffic collisions highly likely. Drain needs to be checked/flushed

    State changed to: Investigating

  • Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. West Northants received approximately 140mm of rain over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please could update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location
