Reported via Android in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 15:19, Mon 23 September 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6505314.
This issue has been ongoing for more than 2 years. Colmore Lane floods every time we have a storm. It means pedestrians can't walk the lane and cars are eroding the banks.

The left side of the road is collapsing even more due to the flooding. Potholes are getting worse, the road surface has failed, tree roots are being damaged and the road is impassable when fully flooded. These are dangerous driving conditions and making walking, cycling impossible. These problems have been reported for years and council consistently ignoring. Needs fixing, not ASAP, but NOW before someone is seriously injured.

No response regarding this matter. The council are neglecting their obligation to maintain the roads and ignoring numerous warnings from residents. Damage to cars, cycles, verges, tree roots and private property occurring, road surface collapsing, multiple potholes forming, road impassable to foot traffic with older residents stranded, risk of injury very high. NEEDS ATTENTION.

Previous warnings of Colmore Lane flooding have been ignored. How many more will the council ignore? This section is flooded again and floods every time there is rain as there is no suitable drainage. The flooding closes the road to pedestrians who are trapped. It causes huge numbers of potholes which I spend a great deal of time reporting and huge expense to the tax payer to repeatedly fix. The verges have eroded leaving 300mm deep trenches and exposing tree roots. Damage to cars and bikes a daily occurrence. Dangerous driving conditions. The council have known about his for years and are doing nothing about it. We are neglected. The councils is obliged to maintain the roads and provide safe living and driving conditions. Why should we pay council tax if the council are not using it to maintain the roads? Are you intimating we fix the road ourselves and pause council tax payments to pay for it????? Buy tanks or hovercrafts to be able to carry on with our daily lives? What message are you sending to the residents? This situation needs to be dealt with as a matter of priority we have been ignored for long enough.
