Abandoned Vehicles dumped
Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 14:23, Mon 23 September 2024
Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6504930.
There are at least two abandoned cars here: one is a silver Volvo, the other is a crimson saloon. Both are growing moss, have flat tires and are clearly abandoned and have been here for years.
They may be SORNd, but Birness Drive and its car park are PUBLIC ROADS: they are accessible by the PUBLIC and are for PUBLIC use.

Not fixed as at 21/10/24. According to Glasgow City Council, this car park is not "adopted" by the Council and is therefore not a public road. So the cars can be left to rot, grow green and be a target for vandalism.

Birness Dr has multi-storey flats and the road there will be owned (and maintained) by the registered social landlord or housing association.
Contact your MSP and their office will deal with them on your behalf.
There are footpaths and roads across Glasgow which were owned by the GCC housing prior to the transfer to housing associations.

Still not fixed as at 16/2/25. This area and the high-rise multi-storey blocks nearby used to be owned by Glasgow City Council. When they were sold to Glasgow Housing Association in the early 2000s, the roads WERE NOT SOLD AND ARE STILL PUBLIC ROADS. The Council however denies this. It is an ongoing dispute.
