Road drain, has lots of decayed tarmac around it

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 19:31, Sun 22 September 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6500974.

The drain on the road, outside 13/15 Kiln Lane, has very damaged tarmac around the drain and it is lower than the road

I tried to take a photo, but cant get it to load! I put a 'lipsil' into the damaged area at the side, and there was a good cm above it , so the depth of damaged area is about 4.5 cm.

Council ref: ENQ241017415

  • This drain is getting really dangerous. As you can see from the attached photos. it was reviewed soon after I had originally reported it, but most of the arrowhead has now collapsed away. The second photo shows that I could easily put my size 6 adult show in the crack on the left. The bus drivers swap over at this stop, and the other day one driver turned the car around in the driveway connected to this dropped kerb section, and the tyre went down into the cavity and needed extra power to get out again! The drain is looking like it is being help up precariously. Please prioritise if possible. It would be very dangerous now if someone stood here, perhaps in snow or ice, and as it is by the dropped kerb, it is where wheelchairs cross .
