Inadequate number of gully gratings (One only) on 350m length of Lower Street

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6499143.
Drain outside Greenway is the only functional gully grating on Lower Street between Bell Pitch and Ruscombe Road which is approximately 400m long (Gully gratings are required every 50m) Heavy rain cause drain to back up which has caused multiple blowouts/water damage to the soakaway on Greenways property.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
