Low hanging branch over pavement

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:33, Wed 17 June 2015

Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later

Part of a tree is hanging down over the pavement, causing one to need to walk on the road side part of the pavement. Despite doing this, and thinking it was just leaves and twigs beside me, I was 'hit' by the tree. Looking back at it, two fair sized branches are amongst the leaves and one of these must have caught me. 20 minutes later and my ear and side of head are still throbbing. Then, just a bit further on, on the corner by Dunelm Mill there is another branch to duck under.

  • Very frustrating. It seems one has to go directly to the business/home owner, who are not so likely to take action on the request of a mere citizen. And you need to know of course who owns the land which is not always clear.
