Pavement not usable
Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:54, Wednesday 18 September 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6485590.
This is causing huge problems on the road. The pavement is out of use but given that the schools are back, this is causing huge issues with school children having to cross such a busy road which is dangerous. Its inconvenient and has been going on for 2 long. The pavement just needs to be repaired

This pavement has not been fixed or rectified and the temporary safety barriers creating a temporary pavement are still in place as per the photos provided. It is unacceptable that anyone has looked at this case and believe no further action is required. I am happy to meet someone onsite if that is what is required. This has been going on for too long, is unsafe and an eyesore. Please remedy this.

There still hasn't been anyone sent to attend the site, it is unacceptable that this is being ignored. It is adding to traffic on busy school mornings as there is a school on the road, it is also a safety hazard to the many children walking to school in the morning. There should be a quick response to get this taken away, as it has been there long enough. We will keep posting every day until this is dealt with.

The barriers are in place to safeguard the section of footway pending works to relay the paving slabs here.

The protection to pedestrians in this area is insufficient. The barrier needs to be extended to meet the pavement. Cars will frequently pull right up to the blue keep right sign to allow oncoming cars to pass, which is where the pedestrians step into the road. We recently had a near miss with our children stepping in front of a car to enter the barriered section. As others have mentioned, Southborough Primary school is at the end of this road and this pavement is busy with young school children. Please provide additional barriers to protect pedestrians until this pavement is repaired.

Just posted exactly the same. The barriers are rubbish, they blow over with a slight bit of wind as pictured and then kids are having to walk in the middle of the road. Unbelievable that this hasn't been actioned, it's been months.

This needs to be sorted immediately. I counted the barriers blown down at least 6 times yesterday. Get some contractors out to site to stabilise these with sand bags. You are clearly in breach of any duty of care by not doing so. Also, please place something opposite these to stop people parking and further blocking the road to way below a single carriageway.
It is dangerous. It needs to be fixed.

Barriers are down - again this morning of 19th October. This is not the publics job to repeatedly reinstate poorly signed and guarded road works. Bromley council are clearly not bothered by such a poor job here. Worse weather coming tomorrow - this will all probably be blown into the carriageway.

The status for this has changed to fixed. It's not fixed. What better time to do this than the 2 weeks half term? Will these barriers still be like this when we get ice and snow? Beggars belief.

Why has this changed to fixed when the Barriers are all still lying in the road?

I guess nothing will be done until a child is seriously injured or killed having to unnecessarily cross or walk in the road because the barriers are down? The ramp my son slipped on as it’s slippy when wet. I suggest you look at the matter urgently.
