Double yellow lines required
Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:38, Thu 12 September 2024
Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6465538.
We have a serious issue with the way residents park on this small part of Langmore Lane as residents park dangerously, on blind bends and mount the pavement. The reason I am reporting this to you now is I was recently driving on this road, a large SUV coming the other way mounted the pavement as there were parked cars and chose to do this to get round me and obviously didn’t see a child walking down the pavement. Luckily the young boy jumped in to a garden to miss the SUV but this is just a serious accident waiting to happen. All the houses on this road have either parking spaces within 10 metres from their properties, drive ways or garages as it is a fairly new estate and ample parking has been provided for every property. It is just residents choose to park on blind bends rather than in their allocated parking spots. Putting double yellow lines on this relatively small part of the road would be the solution to this issue and prevent a serious accident happening.
This issue has been getting worse and worse over time and is now becoming very dangerous. There are approximately 500 cars on this estate that only have this one entrance and exit which is what action really needs to be taken re this issue.

It’s unfortunately a waste of time reporting anything to the council as it’s obviously they just ignore such requests and do not do anything.

Obviously a total waste of time contacting WSCC for anything as it’s obvious it will be totally ignored.
