Request for Removal of Electric Box and Lamp Post Blocking Driveway Access

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 12:34, Mon 9 September 2024

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6452472.

Dear Council

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a situation that requires urgent action. I have recently removed the front wall of my property to allow for easier access to my driveway. However, an electric box and a lamp post, previously leaning against the wall, are now obstructing the driveway, posing several issues.

Firstly, the current positioning of the electric box and lamp post creates a significant hazard for both vehicles and pedestrians. The obstruction impairs visibility and restricts maneuverability when entering or exiting the driveway, increasing the risk of accidents. This is particularly concerning given that members of my household struggle with spatial reasoning, making it even more challenging to navigate the area safely.

Secondly, it is important to note that the maintenance and removal of public utilities such as electric boxes and lamp posts are not the responsibility of the property owner. As these structures are part of public infrastructure, I kindly request that the council arrange for their prompt removal or relocation to ensure the safety and accessibility of my driveway.

Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated, as it will help prevent potential accidents and ensure that my property remains accessible.

Thank you for your attention to this request. I look forward to your prompt response.

Kind regards,

Mohummed
