Businesses are taking over residential street parking

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:20, Thu 5 September 2024

Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6440536.

For many years, residential parking has been painful for the people living in the Melton Road / Belgrave Road area and it’s all due to businesses taking up street parking spaces that should be prioritised for resindents actually live there. When is Leicester City Council going to prioritise residential parking permits? Businesses are making money and have multiple cars/ vans parked in the streets during 8am - 10pm, but the residents are having to deal with brunt of no parking spaces, dealing with fines for parking on double yellow because THERE IS NO WHERE ELSE TO PARK! Do something about this Leicester City Council, why are residents of the street paying hiked Council Tax every year but you are not doing ANYTHING to support them. It’s unfair and it’s high time residents are priority and resident permits are brought into effect now!
