Blocked drain in Deptford Lane
Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 15:10, Thu 5 September 2024
Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6440183.
Drain between Penny Cotttage has been blocked somewhere between Penny Cottage and Greensleeves for many, many months. Water erupting from this drain joins the excess flowing from The Street and readily flows too quickly to re-enter the drains at Greensleeves and below. Significant contributor to the unacceptable erosion along Deptford Lane.

No evidence of any progress. No rain for hours but water still running down the road and eroding the surface.

Nothing has changed. The drain is still very clearly blocked and the road surface continues to deteriorate. Please provide an update.

Clearly not fixed despite the efforts last Friday which resulted in a stuck jetting tool being left underground. The next step is to dig up the road to identify the problem and fix the broken drain. The same work is most likely required for the similar blocked drain which is still a problem further down Deptford Lane.
