Hedge Restricting Path - Danger to School Children

Reported via desktop in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 13:44, Thursday 5 September 2024

Sent to Amersham Town Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6439792.

This morning I witnessed what could have been an almost a fatal accident. A child almost ended up under a truck when stepping into the road to pass oncoming pedestrians on this section of the footpath.

White Lion Road is a high traffic road for all sizes of vehicles and also used by school children walking to either Amersham School or DCHS. My two daughters also use this path to walk to DCHS. Their journey starts from Amersham and walking on this side of the road means they don't need to cross white lion road at any other point, i expect the same is true for other children. At this point of the road, the path has eroded and is also obstructed by over grown hedges. The hedges need cutting back ASAP before there is a serious accident.
